Speaking to The Sun Online Jake said: “I’m signing with Nemesis in Manchester – I’m doing my test shoot next week.

“I am a bit nervous. I signed for Select in 2012 but I didn’t really like modelling, but now I do.

“My confidence has grown. As hard as it is to believe, I didn’t really like being in front of the camera.”

And modelling isn’t the only career Jake is embarking on.

The star revealed he is still working on his music as well as taking acting lessons and completing a personal training course.

He said: “I’ve been having acting lessons and I’m in a musical with Jennifer Ellison later this year.

“I’ve started my personal training course too. I wanted to get something behind me.”

Last year Jake opened up about how he turned to alcohol to cope with his dad and brother’s heartbreaking deaths.

Jake’s brother, Oliver Quickenden, lost his battle with a rare form of bone cancer in 2012 when he was just 19-years-old. Jake’s dad had died of the same illness shortly before.

Speaking on Loose Women Jake revealed: “I lost my brother a couple of years back. It’s not even hereditary, it was just very very unlucky that they both got that.

He added: “I was just going out and I was getting so drunk that I couldn’t remember the night before. And I’d wake up in the morning and be in bed all day, and be depressed and down.

“I struggled with it a lot…especially with my brother because I should have been looking after him. He’s my little brother. I kind of went in a downward spiral.”

The star shared a snap on Instagram back in March in tribute to his brother and dad.

In a throwback photo of Jake with his brothers and parents he wrote: “Family is everything… miss my old man and little bro everyday but good memories will last forever…. dads tan on another level here [sic].”

Of course fans were quick to show their support with on writing: “You’re the double of your dad. Him and Oliver will be looking down on you with such love and pride for all you have achieved.”

Another said: “They would both be so proud of you Jake.”
