Is The Chase FIXED? The Beast reveals EVERYTHING

It's more like the Jeremy Kyle show than a tea time quiz!

| Updated:

ITV game show, The Chase, has often been accused of being fixed – how could one person know ALL those answers?

But Chaser Mark Labbett, aka The Beast, has spoken out once again defending the show against the rumours. He’s insistent there’s no cheating whatsoever going on.

Just last week, fellow Chaser Paul Sinha, was slammed by fans for “throwing the game” to let the contestants win.

But now Mark has addressed the issue whilst speaking to the Express.

“I have never thrown a question, let alone a show,” he said. “I would happily be strapped up to one of Jeremy Kyle’s lie detectors.”

He went on to say he felt social media was to blame for the cries of cheating:

“Social media is great for people’s immediate gut reactions but not for a more considered opinion.

“My guess is that people get caught up in the excitement of the final chase and it boils over.”

During his interview, Mark also addressed the infamous moment he stormed off set, punching a wall after he lost a huge sum of prize money to the team.

He said: “You need a bit of swagger and confidence when you are facing four players with a head start on your own.

“As for bashing the set, I am staggered at the response. For me this is my sport and any sportsperson would completely understand my behaviour.”

He’s also recently discussed with Lorraine his antics on the show.

He said: “It’s what I do, to say I’m the best in the world at what I do is an arrogant statement, but it’s true.”

He added: “I want to live up to that, all of us just want to be the best.”

But after many claims the show is fixed, Mark isn’t the only Chaser to defend the show.

Jenny Ryan, known as The Vixen, has also recently spoken out about the fixed accusations.

She said: “We’re probably the least possibly fixed show on TV. We’ve got lawyers who check everything.”

Brushing off the rumours, Mark has recently said he would like to challenge President Donald Trump to a game of The Chase.

He said: “I suspect he would be a tough but fair opponent.

“As I am the American chaser, I will happily face him on The Chase USA.”

Now that’s something we would all love to see!
