She's wanted to be in the soap since she was five

Coronation Street star Julia Goulding has revealed that starring in the ITV soap is her dream job, something she’s wanted to do since she was a little girl.

In an interview with The Sunday Mirror the Shona Ramsey actress revealed that she is still an avid viewer of the show now, even though she’s in it.

Julia said: “I don’t always like watching my actual face though because of some of the expressions I pull and how deep my frown line is. I can’t escape the crow’s feet.”

She went on to say that sometimes she still finds it hard to believe she’s actually part of the show and gets star struck seeing things like Bill Roache (Ken Barlow) in the green room.

Julia confessed that being such a big fan of Corrie actually helped her settle in to her new role right away.

She said: “I already knew where the kettle was in Roy’s Rolls. I’d be like, ‘Don’t you worry Roy, I know where I’m going.'”

Julia also said that she adores working with Jack P Shepherd who plays on screen boyfriend David Platt because they’re ‘always laughing.’

We won’t be seeing much laughter from Shona and David on our screens though as this week David makes the tough decision to report Josh Tucker to the police for raping him.

David comes to his decision after hearing grieving Johnny Connor pour his heart out to Peter Barlow about his son Aidan’s suicide and how he wishes he had spoken to him.

David also has a run in with Dec, another one of Josh’s victims who says he has no intention of going to the police and wants Shona to stop hassling him.

On Tuesday’s episode David is forced to relive his ordeal when he is questioned by an officer about the attack in emotional scenes.

But will his confession mean Josh faces the justice he deserves?
