Kate Wright and birthday boy Rio Ferdinand gave fans a glimpse of the glitzy celebrations thrown for his 40th on Instagram earlier today.
The newly-engaged pair revealed some unique touches to the former footballer’s milestone bash over social media – including a gold, tiered birthday cake and a wall of pictures highlighting some of his dodgiest looks from the past.
Fancy cupcakes and jars of sweets were also laid out for guests.
A short Instagram Stories video clip shared by Kate with her million followers also showed the couple dancing.

“What are those moves?” she teased in the caption of another vid as her man cut shapes on the dance floor.
Ex TOWIE cast member Kate, 27, is believed to have organised the flash do at Manchester’s Rosso Restaurant.
The swanky event came just one week after Rio popped the question in front of his three kids during a holiday in Abu Dhabi.
Friends and family partied with the ex Manchester United and England player, with footballers Andy Cole and Robbie Savage among the guests.

And although everyone was dressed to impress, Kate looked to be the belle of the ball in a stunning crop top and skirt combo.
A cast on her left hand, helping heal two broken bones she sustained after dislocating her wrist, was also visible – although that was probably less of a conscious fashion choice.
And according to Kate, the party was a huge success.
Posting a pic this evening, she hinted the pair had a big night.
“The best night,” Kate commented on a snap of her and Rio before they headed out.
She added: “We definitely didn’t look like this at the end of the night!”
Rio and Kate got together after being introduced by mutual friends at the start of 2017.
She decided to quit reality TV and took on a new role as step-mum to his children two years after their mother and Rio’s wife Rebecca passed away from breast cancer.
