Inside Beyonce’s Soul Train birthday party

Big haired Queen Bey and Jay-Z lead showbiz pals at her 35th birthday bash

Beyonce was the feeling funky on Monday night as she hosted a star-studded party to celebrate her 35th birthday.

She rang in her big night with a Soul Train themed bash in New York City which attracted some of the biggest names in the industry and some incredible costumes.

Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams dressed up as disco divas, as did Beyonce’s sister Solange Knowles.

Other partygoers included June Ambrose, Carmelo Anthony, LaLa Anthony, Swizz Beatz, Cassie, Chance the Rapper, Detail, Sean “Diddy” Combs, The-Dream, Jourdan Dunn, Ty Hunter, Chanel Iman, Alicia Keys, Kendrick Lamar, Joan Smalls, Serena Williams and Usher.

Arriving on the arm of her husband Jay-Z, 45, at 11pm the “Hold Up” singer wore a stunning sequin outfit and wore her hair big, like a throwback to her role in Austin Powers’ 1975-themed Goldmember film.

Sources told how she quickly hit the dance floor and at one point her 4-year-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter got on the mic and said: “Happy birthday mommy”

Beyoncé later addressed her guests, saying: “Thank you, everybody, for coming. You guys did such an incredible job committing and I’m so happy to be here.” To Jay Z, she said, “Thank you, baby.”

A source told E! News: “Kelly and Solange looked like they had really good time and enjoyed themselves.
“They were very giddy.”

But as guests raised the roof, neighbors raised an issue with cops. “The police showed up around 1 a.m. due to noise complaints,” the source says. “A few officers came and they wound up turning the music down.”

It certainly seems Queen Bey had no problem partying through the ‘doctor-ordered vocal rest,’ which led to the postponement of her concert this Wednesday.

The MetLife Stadium in New Jersey released an official statement Monday assuring fans that their tickets will be honored on October 7.

Jay-Z resembled guitar god Jimi Hendrix as he puffed on a cigarette alongside Usher’s second wife Grace.

The 37-year-old R&B crooner rocked a similar afro wig and open-chested bead bling as the 21-time Grammy winner.

Meanwhile, Alicia Keys, 35, and her husband of five years, Swizz Beatz, looked straight out of HBO’s The Get Down in their retro costumes.
