Iain Lee says he went to A&E after being “viciously attacked” by an owl

He recounted the painful incident on his talkRADIO show on Tuesday

Former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Iain Lee has spoken about how he ended up in A& E after being “viciously attacked” by an owl.

The star took to Twitter to tell his fans about the “weird” incident and insisted it wasn’t a joke.

Iain, 45, said that he was “sitting in A&E with blood everywhere” so he wasn’t sure if he would be able to host his late night talkRADIO show on Tuesday.

He wrote: “Sorry guys. Not sure I’ll be able to do the show tonight. This is the weirdest thing but… I’ve just been attacked viciously. By an owl. It sounds like a joke but it’s not.”

“Just sitting in A&E with blood everywhere,” he added.

Shortly after, he shared a photo of himself giving a thumbs up in a wheelchair, while sitting outside the A&E with a bandage wrapped around his head.

He wrote: “The doctors here are incredible. I’ve had a tetanus and a few other injections.”

Iain explained doctors “glued the scratches” on his head back together.

He added: “I’m woozy and in shock but fingers crossed I’ll be on air tonight at 10 on @talkRADIO.”

Despite his injuries, Iain still managed to host his radio talk show on Tuesday night and went into detail about the incident.

Sporting a bandage around his head, he said: “I was attacked by an owl today. It was behind me.

“I was out in a secluded area and that’s all I’m prepared to say about where I was. I came back from New York and it was very urban there, so I wanted to be within nature. So I went to this spot.”

He continued: “I don’t know what happened, but I was walking along and I heard the beating of wings and there was just the most intense pain in the back of my head.”

Iain said the pain was “like tiny knives in my head”.

He explained: “A bird had clawed itself into my head. I tried to beat it off and eventually it went. I was in shock, and there were a couple of guys there and one of them drove me to a hospital.”

On Wednesday morning, Iain updated his fans on his injuries.

He tweeted: “Thanks for all your support yesterday. I’ve woken up feeling better (sore head, bruised ego) but really [expletive] off and violated. I want to cull all owls. Is that bad of me?

“Just want to shoot their stupid bug eyed rotating heads off. Evil [expletive].”

Fans sent the star their well-wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery.

Others said they’d also suffered injuries during encounters with birds, so understood how painful it could be.
