Bobby Brown has posted a touching tribute to his late daughter on his Instagram page after a court found her boyfriend Nick Gordon legally responsible for her wrongful death.
Next to a painting of him with Bobbi Kristina – the only child he had with Whitney Houston – the singer wrote: “#IGOTEM #Babygirl.”
He added a hash tag to “Daddy’s always got your back,” adding, “Justice for Bobbi Kristina.”
The My Prerogative singer has made no secret of the fact he thinks Gordon was responsible for the death of Bobbi Kristina, who died in July 2015, seven months after being found unconscious in her bathtub in an eerie repeat of what happened to her mother three years earlier.
Whitney Houston died in February 2012 after she was found face down in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
In an interview with ABC’s 20/20 on US TV in June, Brown tearfully said: “It’s not a mystery to me. The same thing that happened to my daughter is what happened to Whitney.”
He added: “There’s only one person that was around [on] both occasions, only one person who says they were there to protect them. And he didn’t.”
Despite refusing to say Gordon’s name, he said: “He knows what happened. I don’t know what happened that night, but he does.”
Gordon has always denied he was responsible for his 22-year-old girlfriend’s death.
In April he said on the Dr Phil Show: “Regardless of what everybody thinks, I made Krissy and Whitney’s last few years on earth as happy as they would be.
“I gave them somebody to trust to, to talk to, to be there, someone genuine.”
Nevertheless, on Friday he was found legally responsible for Bobbi Kristina’s death because he failed to show up to a civil hearing in an Atlanta court.
The hearing was part of her estate’s lawsuit against him. The suit claims Gordon is responsible for Bobbi Kristina’s wrongful death for allegedly beating her up after a “cocaine and drinking binge.”
He was found legally responsible by default because of his failure to appear in court.
