Hotel hiring ‘Fur Butler’ to hang out with its Bernese Mountain dog

It's a paid gig too!

All the perks of owning a dog without the hassle sounds great to us and that’s what The St. Regis Hotel in Aspen is offering one lucky candidate.

As well as getting to hang out all day with their famous Bernese Mountain dog, Kitty, the successful applicant will be paid for the privilege.

Kitty joined the hotel in September 2018 and is named after a dog owned by the St Regis Hotels’ founder John Jacob Astor IV.

The dog greets guests upon arrival, wanders the corridors checking everything is in order, and even helps tuck guests into bed.

The hotel has posted on their Facebook page that Kitty is now hiring a ‘Fur Butler’ of his own to ” look after Kitty’s daily schedule and the execution of the Resort’s pet offerings.

I love jumping into the snow around the trees.

It’s a full time role and the person must have “a deep passion for animals, service, uncompromising standards, the ability to anticipate needs, and impeccable interpersonal skills.

“A keen interest in photography and social media is encouraged,” as the Fur Butler will be managing Kitty’s social media feed, which has 43k followers!

The position is located in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, so you might have to relocate!

But judging by the pics on Kitty’s Instagram page, the pooch has a lot of fun, so it sounds like a dream job!

Earlier this year, Kitty gave an interview to the Aspen Sojourner about his life at the hotel.

He said his favourite spots include “The fountain courtyard—I love jumping into the snow around the trees and bushes and snatching up s’more crumbs around the firepits.

“I also like to greet guests in front of the hotel and then run a few laps around the elk statues.”
