When a baby enters your life, they’re the most precious thing in the world and you worry about them every five minutes of the day.
So when Jamie and Rebekah Vardy spotted a rash on their baby this week you can imagine the fear that gripped their bodies.
As they studied the strange red marks on their son’s body, they also noticed that Finley was running a high temperature.
Panicked, they dashed the mite to the local hospital for a check up – just to be safe, after all it could have been anything, such as a life threatening condition like meningitis.
Once they arrived at the hospital medics swiftly examined their poorly boy and told them that he was suffering from shingles – a serious enough condition in itself.
While they were relieved by the diagnosis, the pair were still shaken
“It was very frightening for them both – as it would be for any parent,” a source told the Sun.
“They went through the necessary checks and discovered Finley has shingles, which can be serious in young babies.
“The couple were reassured by doctors that he will make a full recovery – a huge relief for all the family.”
Once she got her boy home, Rebekah paid tribute to the staff for all they had done to reassure them and look after them during their tough time.
“Thank you so much to the staff at Leicester Hospital for taking such good care of us yesterday,” she wrote on Twitter.
“A credit to the NHS.”
Finley was born in January of this year and was the reason why Rebekah had been forced to pull out of last year’s I’m A Celeb.
Having signed up for the jungle show early last year, news of her pregnancy meant that she wouldn’t be allowed to take part and so she reluctantly stepped down.
However, it was recently reported that she could be in the running again for this year’s series.
“Bosses were really keen on Becky last year and had some very productive discussions,” a source has said. “They are planning to have another chat with her this year.
“She’s glamorous but she’s fiery too. She could bring lots to the table and she seemed keen before.
“Having had a healthy baby back in January, she’d be available when the show returns later this year.”
