Horror in the capital as private London party bus crashes

Injured passengers rushed to hospital

Five people have been taken to hospital after being injured after a private double decker party bus collided with a bridge.

Emergency services were called at around 4.05am after the red bus hit the railway bridge on St Loys Road in Tottenham, north London.

According to London Fire Brigade, three people were freed by crews from the upper deck, five passengers were taken to hospital and 21 people were treated at the scene.

Scotland Yard has confirmed that inquiries into how the incident occurred are underway.

The bridge, which is outside Tottenham fire station, has been declared safe by Network Rail, the spokesman from London Fire Brigade continued.
