Hollyoaks’ Chelsee Healey opens up on split from baby’s father

Her main priority is daughter Coco

Chelsee Healey has said things are amicable between her and ex-boyfriend Jack Malloy.

The Hollyoaks actress confirmed to Daily Star Sunday that she’s split from Jack but said the pair enjoy a good relationship as they co-parent daughter Coco, eight months.

Chelsee, 29, said: “It’s no secret that I’m single but Jack will always be there for Coco.

“We’ve not been together for a while and she goes to London every other weekend to be with her dad. We’re still friends, it’s all amicable.”

Chelsee gave birth to Coco, her first child, in July 2017.

“All I want to do is be the best mum that I can be to Coco,” she said. “Since having her my priorities have completely changed and of course you want to set the best example that you can.”

Chelsee and Jack were together for three years before Coco’s birth, before splitting after her arrival.

Before their break-up, she sang his praises in an interview with The Mirror, saying she couldn’t have asked for a better father for her child.

They were rumoured to have briefly split at one stage prior to Chelsee falling pregnant, after Jack spent time in prison on a driving offence charge.

Chelsee later defended him, saying: “Everyone makes mistakes. The fact that he’s been in jail or whatever does not change him as a father. He’s always been a loving person and I knew he’d be a great dad to Coco.

“He’s been with me every step of the way – at my scans, in the delivery room and doing all the parenting duties.”

The actress, who has also appeared in Waterloo Road, previously said she’d been shocked when she discovered she was pregnant with Coco – but it was the best surprise ever.

“I started crying but they were happy tears,” she told OK! magazine. “I’ve never been one of those girls who really wanted children. I’ve always enjoyed not having any responsibilities, but I can already feel that changing in me.

“My maternal instincts have taken over and I feel much more mature since finding out I’m going to be a mum.”

“It wasn’t something we’d planned but now we are having a baby we couldn’t be happier,” she added. “If this had happened a few years ago I would have panicked, but I feel ready now.”

Since having Coco, the actress has never looked happier, and her Instagram page is filled with lovely photos of the mother and daughter.
