What’s that old saying, Holly? Never work with children or animals?
The hosts of This Morning should have paid attention to that adage today as they let resident studio pup Digby in front the camera as they went about their jobs.
Unfortunately Digby – who joined the crew in September – is still a young and excitable puppy, and it all got a bit too much for him.
He leaped up and barked, without realising how close he was to the glass coffee table in front of Phil’s knees.
Giving himself an almighty whack on the head in the process.
Holly immediately covered her mouth in shock, while Phil laughed off the gaffe and gave Digby a few treats, explaining: “I’m rewarding him for not crying for banging his head.”
Holly then wailed: “We’re the worst parents ever!” as crew members laughed off-camera.

Luckily, Digby appeared to be unharmed after his escapade, and calmed down after a bit of stroking from Phil.
It’s far from the first time the presenting pair have almost lost control while in front of the camera, which is why fans of the show love them so much.

The chaotic scenes had interrupted more serious segments including a glamorous Gloria Hunniford discussing how she left Northern Ireland to move to Canada at the tender age of 17.
Sorry Gloria, but Digby’s wellbeing comes first!
