Hollywood star Hilary Duff has come out fighting after she was showered with criticism over a pic with her son.

She was pictured kissing her four-year-old son on the lips, while visiting Disneyland.

After posting the snap on Instagram though, she had her parenting skills called out as people thought the kiss was ‘inappropriate’.

The comments were cutting with one writing: “You should not kiss your son like that.

“There’s other ways to show love but not that one.

“It’s confusing for him, it’s not healthy.”

There were many that came to Hilary’s defence though, saying that some people should stopped getting so carried away with feeling incredulous.

One such fan wrote: “What a sad state the world is in if there are actually people out there that think this is wrong.

“Why is this even an issue, it’s the love between a mother and her child.

“It’s not about exploring affection, it’s about loving and being loved.

“Myself and my husband kiss our children on the lips all the time.

“Without doubt, because I love them and they love me and I will do so until they no longer want me to or the day I die.

“Nothing more to it. No love like it. Get a grip people.”

Hilary didn’t let her fans stand up and defend her alone, and decided to step in to the fray herself.

She posted a defence of the pic on Instagram, telling those who posted negative comments, exactly what they can do.

It read: “For anyone commenting that a kiss on the lips with my four year old (sic) is “inappropriate” go ahead and click a quick unfollow with your warped minds and judgement.”

Hilary wasn’t alone with her thoughts and she received thousands of comments in support of what she wrote.

What do you think, did Hilary cross the line or is it only natural to kiss your offspring like that?
