Here’s some good news for Ant McPartlin!

Proof that everyone still loves him!

Here’s some news that should put a smile on troubled Ant McPartlin’s face.

He and best pal Declan Donnelly have been voted as having the best celebrity friendship.

Ant and Dec topped the poll voted for by British mums and dads, celebrating the UN International Day of Friendship on July 30.

The Geordie duo won nearly 60 per cent of the votes, as more than 2,000 UK parents were quizzed on things such as their best role models for young children and who they considered to have the best celebrity friendship.

Holly Willoughby came in both second and third place, with her friendships with Phillip Schofield and Fearne Cotton both highly regarded by the voting mums and dads.

It’s Ant and Dec’s great friendship that has also helped them pick up dozens of BAFTAs and National Television Awards over the years.

The Britain’s Got Talent hosts met back in their native Newcastle in 1989 on the children’s programme Byker Grove and have been inseparable ever since. They lived together as flatmates, then next door neighbours, and even now only live a few doors apart in Chiswick, west London.

And their remarkable bond has kept the friends at the top of the showbiz tree for 27 years, not to mention amassing a £120m fortune.

But things have been more difficult for the much-loved pair of late, with the news that Ant was addicted to prescription painkillers and alcohol.

The 41-year-old is currently more than halfway through a two month stint in rehab to try and conquer his demons and beat the addictions.

Ant made the revelation in June, releasing a statement in which he said: “I feel like I have let a lot of people down and for that I am truly sorry.

“I want to thank my wife, family and closest friends for helping me through this really difficult time.

“I’ve spoken out because I think it’s important that people ask for help if they’re going through a rough time and get the proper treatment to help their recovery.”

As for Dec, friends say the 41-year-old is hoping his partner will soon be back to full health and appearing next to him on screen once again.

Reports had suggested their friend Holly Willoughby could present this year’s I’m A Celebrity alongside Dec, if Ant was not recovered in time.

But a close friend of the duo denied the rumours and told the Mirror: “Dec wouldn’t work on screen without Ant on any major show and he has said the last thing he would do is go to Australia without him.

“To say he would consider working with Holly was ridiculous. He is a good friend of hers but he would not do that to Ant.

“Ant and Dec are a team with a huge emotional bond, they are like brothers and Dec will only be hosting I’m A Celebrity with Ant by his side.”

“They’ve got months yet to sort things out and the hope is that Ant will bounce back with another hit series of I’m A Celebrity and they will move on from this chapter in their career.”

If anyone can, it is those best pals.
