Helen Flanagan says she’ll “definitely” return to Coronation Street

She's been on maternity leave since April last year

Helen Flanagan says she will “definitely” return to Coronation Street – it’s just a matter of “when and how”.

The 28-year-old star – who has played Rosie Webster on the soap on and off since 2000 – went on maternity leave in April last year.

But she has insisted her alter-ego will make a cobbles comeback at some point, despite being “settled” in her Glasgow home, 200 miles away from the show’s Manchester-based set.

Speaking about her footballer fiance Scott Sinclair, who plays for Scottish club Celtic, Helen told the Sunday People newspaper: “With Scott’s job we’re settled in Glasgow at the moment but I’d love to go back to ‘Coronation Street’. It’s just a matter of when and how I work it.

“I miss everyone so much I definitely will go back. It’s just when that will be.”

Helen caught up with several of her Corrie co-stars last month at the National TV Awards, and she was even able to introduce Delilah to some of them the morning after.

Helen – who has kids Matilda, three, and seven-month-old Delilah with Scott – added: “We all share parenting tips in the green room at Corrie. It’s such a family atmosphere. I went to the National Television Awards the other week, which was fab.”

The former Celebrity Super Spa star and the ex-Aston Villa footballer revealed they were engaged last May, and Helen has since said she would love to get married so she can share the same surname as her daughters.

Since on maternity leave from Corrie, Helen has been working on another project.

She’s launched her own maternity and breastfeeding lingerie collection after thinking there was a gap in the market for functional yet pretty bras.

“I’ve started a maternity breastfeeding range called Delilah Ruby,” she said during an appearance on Lorraine.

“I wanted to have some cool breastfeeding bras. I felt there was a gap in the market for some cool ones and I wanted a project I could do at home with the baby.

“I think it’s important as a mum to still have your identity and own work and be able to do something at home.”
