Pregnant Helen Flanagan shares labour nerves in throwback pic to first birth

Her second's baby due date is Wednesday

Pregnant Helen Flanagan has shared a beautiful throwback photo of the birth of first daughter Matilda, as she awaits the arrival of her second child.

The Coronation Street actress’ due date is Wednesday but she has already predicted her little one will be overdue.

Helen, 27, told fans she was 11 days late with Matilda, two, and she expects the second baby, another daughter, will follow in her big sister’s footsteps.

Alongside the intimate pic, the Corrie star reflected on her experience of labour and birth first time around.

“My birth with Matilda was, I think, all around a positive one,” said Helen.

She explained: “I had a slow labour from having contractions on the Saturday morning and then being induced on the Sunday evening and having Matilda on Monday morning.

“I ended up having an episiotomy with Matilda but I had the nicest, kindest most supportive midwife and I felt, as labours go, my pain was really managed. I had an epidural, gas and air and pethidine.”

Helen went on to admit she is nervous about giving birth again, but she thinks that is natural.

She also said she hopes to feel calmer this time around and she’s been through it once before. “I do feel anxious about my labour with my baby now but I’m hoping I’ll feel maybe a little bit calmer this time,” she said.

“For me I felt I worked myself up too much in my head about my labour so I am hoping I can try and focus my mind more.

“I think all women feel nervous about their labour as it’s only natural. Just hoping for the safe and healthy arrival of my baby girl and blessed to be able to carry two babies.”
