HEARTBREAKING! Reality star shares photo of baby after miscarriage

Married at first sight star Jamie Otis says son 'deserves to be remembered'

| Updated:

Married At First Sight star Jamie Otis shared a heart-wrenching image of her tiny baby boy after she suffered a miscarriage at just 17 weeks.

The 33-year-old said she know there is a “great stigma” attached to posting such images but she wanted to pay tribute to her late son as part of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.

“I can’t sleep well tonight so I blogged about my sweet boy, Johnathan Edward,”  she wrote in the Facebook post.

“I realize there is a great stigma associated with sharing photos of your baby who was born too early and has already gone to heaven so I want to say sorry if this offends you.

“However, if there’s one thing my husband has taught me it’s this: “Don’t live life trying NOT to offend anyone and trying to please everyone.”

She added: “I hope by me sharing my sweet boy, Johnny (as Doug and I call him), you’ll realize that he’s a harmless, helpless baby who deserves to be remembered, not hidden away because his image may offend someone.

“And if you’ve lost your baby early, please know that you’re not alone. Unfortunately, 1 in 4 women are affected by this. Yet, no one talks about it. I hope this can change. I’ll be the first in my circle. You be the first in yours.”

She ended with: “My prayers go out to everyone who has lost their sweet baby too early.”

The emotional post was accompanied with a black and white photo of her and husband Doug Hehner, 33, cradling little Johnathan in a hospital bed.

Her courageous post inspired many other women to post photos of children who were stillborn or miscarried.

Jamie and husband Doug met on the first season of FYI’s Married at First Sight and also appeared in Married at First Sight: The First Year.

The couple had excitedly announced their pregnancy on social media just a week before their loss in July – and had been sharing photos of pregnancy scans and Jamie’s bump.

She announced the miscarriage on social media, writing on Instagram: “You’re our little Angel up in Heaven. We cannot wait to meet you and hold you again one day. We love and miss you. #babyHehner #OurAngel #LoveYou.”
