GMB presenter announces pregnancy live on air

Susanna Reid was tearful as her colleague shared the wonderful news

Good Morning Britain’s Laura Tobin shared the best news on Tuesday’s show.

The weather presenter couldn’t contain herself as she went public with her pregnancy for the first time.

Laura gave her co-stars, Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, a shock during her first weather segment of the day as that’s when she told them, and they couldn’t quite believe it!

Telling the entire nation, Laura said: “As we head into September, things will be blooming, but it won’t just be my dress, because I’m very pleased to let everybody know that come the end of October, I’ll be having my own little ray of sunshine. I am having a baby!”

Susanna and Piers were elated, as well as their co-host Charlotte Hawkins.

Laura then explained that only her close family members knew about the baby, and that her extended family and friends didn’t even know!

Talking about the exciting news to the viewers at home, Susanna said: “I had a tear in my eye”, while Piers couldn’t help but suggest his own name for Laura’s new tot.

The 52-year-old journo then teased Susanna about wanting another baby while she became emotional. Retaliating, she said that she was very happy for her friend but that she certainly has no plans to become a mother again.

This will be Laura’s first baby with her husband of seven years, Dean Brown. The 35-year-old later joked that her bump currently looks like a “food baby”, as well as apologising to Cornwall and Devon because her tummy will eventually cover up those counties!

Charlotte wished her friend and colleague a huge congratulations on Twitter, alongside a pic of a very happy Laura.

Piers also uploaded a photo of Susanna and Laura, making sure he stated that it definitely isn’t Susanna that is expecting.
