Loose Women gets awkward as Kaye accuses Nadia of being controlling

The ladies at lunch were arguing about whether parents should still give adult kids money

We already know that those Loose Ladies on the telly are a pretty feisty bunch.

And that’s why we love them.

But this week loyal viewers were squirming in their seats as things got tense between Kaye Adams and Nadia Sawalha.

The pair were busy debating whether or not parents should continue to shell out dosh on their adult kids.

The debate kicked off as the panel were discussing a lottery winner who had won £101 million and was being taken to court by his son, who cheekily said he deserved more money from him after he spent £1.6 million in two years!

Nadia said that she and her hubby Mark still paid for her 23-year-old stepdaughter Izzy’s phone bill.

“Mark and I were talking the other day about whether we should still be paying her mobile phone bill and then we thought, ‘Yeah, actually’, because life is incredibly expensive…”

Riled, Kaye tried to challenge her, but Nadia hit back, “Wait, wait, wait!” adding, “She works really hard, she’s an artist but she works two jobs, she’s working really hard!”

But Kaye wasn’t having it.

“You’re being contradictory and quite controlling to be honest.  You’ve made that decision, you’ve decided that they’re working hard enough…”

Nadia tried to reason with the tough Scot and said: “Where else would it come from?”

Kaye responded, “If your line is when they get to a certain age let them look after themselves, then let them look after themselves…”

But Nadia said that that wasn’t what she thought and said: “We always want things these days to be one thing or another and there’s a grey area in between.”

Kaye merely replied. “So, when does it stop then?”

Obviously viewers were keen to have their say, with one taking a pop at the ‘wealthy’ panelists: “It’s ok to talk about what you wouldn’t do with money when you have it. When you ain’t got it, it’s a different ball game #LooseWomen.”

Another viewer was a lot more reasonable and said: “#LooseWomen I think it should be a choice to give adult children money it shouldn’t be expected.”
