Gemma Collins threatens to quit new show before it even airs

It could be like I'm A Celebrity all over again!

Gemma Collins knows what she wants. And what she currently wants is to find Mr Right and live happily ever after.

Which is why she’s signed up for the fourth series of E4’s Celebs Go Dating, which has just started filming.

But Gemma, 36, has warned she’ll walk away from the programme if matchmakers Lady Nadia Essex and Eden Blackman fail to meet her expectations.

And it seems she’s not got off on the best foot after telling The Sun: “I’m not really feeling them at the minute.”

“I don’t know how long I’m going to stay around for,” she warned. “I don’t know if I’ll make it until the end of this show. I’ve got a lot of expectation of the love finders.”

Gemma added that she’s still hopeful Nadia and Eden will find her love, though (although the show hasn’t exactly got a good track record for creating long-lasting relationships so far…)

No pressure there, guys!

Gemma, of course, is pretty famous for walking out of the I’m A Celebrity jungle after just three days in 2014, although she later said she hadn’t been in the right head space for the show because of things happening in her personal life.

Gemma has often been described as unlucky in love over the years, and has never made any secret of the fact she wants to settle down and start a family.

Her most famous relationship to date was with TOWIE co-star James ‘Arg’ Argent.

That fizzled out in 2012 but it was recently rumoured the pair had been getting hot ‘n’ heavy once again, although the fact she’s signed up to a TV dating show would suggest otherwise.

Confirming she’s signed to Celebs Go Dating, Gem said this week: “I am so ready to find my dream man and live happily ever after if there’s someone out there that is ready for all the candy!”

That “candy” quip was a reference to her most famous TOWIE scene, in which she stripped to a swimsuit and told ex Arg: “You ain’t ever going to get this candy!”

Gemma spoke about her desire to marry and be a mother during an appearance on ITV’s Loose Women earlier this year.

She said: “At my age all my friends have children, they are married and every weekend I’m on my own.”

The star decided to have her eggs frozen at the start of the year but was devastated to be told she has a low egg count, leading her to fear she’d never be able to carry a child.

Gemma told the panel: “There’s a one in ten chance I could fall pregnant naturally.

“They didn’t recommend me freezing my eggs as I don’t produce enough naturally. I could have an egg donor but the egg wouldn’t have my DNA.

“I really, really hope and pray every night that I will meet this wonderful person and fall in love with him. I still hope it will happen but if I don’t ever meet that man I will have a baby on my own.

“I do think I’ve got a lot of love to give a child and I could give a child a lovely life.”
