Gemma Collins promises to “break all rules” on Dancing on Ice

Is anyone really surprised?

Gemma Collins is promising to break all the rules when she makes her first appearance on Dancing on Ice.

The GC will take to the rink this weekend with professional partner Matt Evers, who confirmed that the TOWIE diva plans to shake things up – as usual!

During an interview with ITV’s Lorraine Kelly, Matt said: “She’s picking me up. She’s going to pick me up.”

And Gemma added: “We are breaking all Dancing on Ice rules this year.”

It also seems the 37-year-old is determined to wow audiences by showing off her flexibility, as Matt explained that she really wants to do the splits.

Earlier this week, Gemma threatened to quit the show before it’s even started.

In an advert for this year’s competition, she was told she would be skating to We Like to Party! (The Vengabus) by The Vengaboys,

Unimpressed by the song choice for her first performance, a group routine with the other stars, the GC said she wanted to pull out.

But Dancing on Ice host Phillip Schofield confirmed that Gemma hasn’t left just yet.

Speaking during a live link on This Morning, the Schofe insisted that Gemma is still part of the lineup as he had just seen her rehearsing for the show opener – but told viewers that Gemma will not be skating to the hit Vengaboys track.

Phil went on to reveal a number of big changes to this year’s Dancing on Ice, including a bigger, “more substantial” rink and increased studio capacity with an audience of 530 people.

Perhaps the biggest change for fans will be the show’s new ‘ice cam’, which Phil explained will be filming from right in the action.

Gemma is believed to be feeling the strain already, and reportedly had to come off WhatsApp because she was inundated for tickets – so much so that her boyfriend, fellow TOWIE star James Argent, had to intervene.

Arg said on Instagram: “Please understand and don’t take it personal if she can’t get you one. She’s had to come off Whatsapp because of people driving her mad.

“She needs to concentrate fully on her routine and no added pressure.”

The new series starts on Sunday, 6 January. Other celebs in the lineup include ex-EastEnders star Richard Blackwood, Corrie actress Jane Danson and Westlife singer Brian McFadden.
