Mum-to-be Gemma Atkinson is getting her house in order before the arrival of her first child – and it seems she can tick having her hair freshened up off her to-do list.
The former Strictly star, 34, explained to her one million Instagram followers on Friday evening how she’s keen on a style that will be easy to look after while her attention is focused on her and partner Gorka Marquez’s baby.
Showing off her new locks on the social media site, Gemma revealed: “Decided on some darker shades through my blondes today.
“Going for more low maintenance when it comes to my root upkeep!”

Emmerdale fave Gemma also gave her fans a good look at her new colouring from a variety of different angles, including from the back and how the golden treacle shades appear when she has her hair tied up.
Hashtagging her post #mumpreparation, Gem thanked her stylist and gave her new ‘do both thumbs up.
“As always, I love it!” came her verdict.
Tens of thousands of fans also gave their backing to her dazzling tresses by liking Gemma snaps, with dozens also offering supportive comments to the Hits Radio presenter.

“Absolutely stunning,” said one fan.

Gorka also seemed to be wowed, making his appreciation clear with several emojis: “😍😍♥️♥️🔥”.
The couple announced they were expecting back in February. Gemma was spotted looking radiant earlier this week as she left work for a final time ahead of her maternity leave.
