If you’re a fan of Gareth Gates, you’ll know he’s intensely private when it comes to his eight-year-old, Missy.
Which makes the singer’s latest Instagram post all the more special, as he took to social media to share a sweet daddy-daughter moment.
The 35-year-old wrote beside the adorable shot: “I rarely share pictures of my daughter. I never like exposing too much of her, I think it should be her choice when she’s a little older. BUT – I had to share this.
“I can’t believe how beautiful she is. I love you Missy moo. You’re my world.”
He added the hashtags: “ #nofilter #daddydaughter.”

The star – who shot to fame in 2002 on reality talent show Pop Idol – shares custody of Missy with his ex-wife, Suzanne Gates, who he split from in 2012.

Gareth’s 50k followers were blown away by the sweet snap, with one commenting: “Awww wow what a beautiful photo of you both. Missy is stunning! I can’t believe how grown up she is now. It feels like yesterday we were looking at newborn photos.”
A second wrote: “What a beautiful girl. Gorgeous eyes too,” while a third added: “She is stunning.”
Others agreed that it’s important to hold back when it comes to sharing photos of children, with one commenting: “This is an absolutely beautiful picture @gareth_gates she is growing into such a beautiful young lady, you have every right to be proud of her.

“I agree about sharing pictures of kids though, I’m the same with my boys. But sometimes (like this time) the pictures are so gorgeous they need to be shared.”
Another added: “Yes definitely keep her away from the glare of the media.” One more wrote: “Awww this is so beautiful it brings tears to my eyes. I guessed that was the reason you rarely share pics of Missy, it’s totally understandable.”
The intimate Instagram post comes as Gareth prepares for his wedding to Coronation Street actress Faye Brookes.
Faye, 31, filmed her final scenes on the soap last month after quitting the ITV favourite to concentrate on her relationship.
Faye – who played Kate Connor – and Gareth got engaged in January following a brief split in September.
She shared a moving message with her fans after filming, that read: “The best is yet to come.”
