Former EastEnders actress marries man she met on blind date set up by Judge Rinder

A real love story with a happy ending...

| Updated:

Brooke Kinsella has had more than her share of heartache over the past few years, so her uplifting wedding and marriage build-up photos are an absolute joy to behold.

The former EastEnders actress tied the knot with her solicitor boyfriend Simon Boardly, just five months after the pair got engaged.

Brooke, who played Kelly Taylor in EastEnders between 2001-2004, is these days most known for her relentless anti-knife crime campaigning, after losing her half-brother Ben in 2008.

Ben was just 16 when he was stabbed to death by three youths in London.

Since then, Brooke has worked to raise awareness of knife crime and crime prevention, with Prince Charles awarding her an MBE in 2011 in recognition of her work.

Brooke’s manager Jonathan revealed to the Mail that the actress met her husband-to-be with a little help from a fellow TV star – Judge Rinder!

“Judge Rinder set Brooke up on a blind date with his best friend Simon and they fell in love!” Jonathan told the paper.

A week before their wedding day, Brooke uploaded a festive picture of their rings displayed on a Christmas tree, alongside two sparkly S and B decorations.

Clearly excited about her forthcoming big day, Brooke captioned the pic: “This time next week” along with a heart and broad grin emoji.

On the day of the ceremony, Brooke was perhaps alluding to her late brother as she shared a picture of her wedding venue drenched in sunlight and the words:

“There was never any doubt my little angel would bring the sun out for me today”.

Gulp.

Brooke also used her Instagram feed to share two throwback snaps of herself and Simon as children, along with a poem called An Uncommon Love.

The smitten bride-to-be wrote alongside it: “Today I get to marry my best friend.”

What a lovely series of snaps and words – many congratulations Brooke and Simon.
