First Dates couple stunned after realising they’ve ALREADY dated

The duo quickly realised they weren't in fact strangers

| Updated:

The Valentine’s special of First Dates didn’t quite go as expected for contestants Anna and Vince when they realised that they had met before.

As Anna met comedian Vince she noted that he looked familiar – perhaps not that strange as they were both from Manchester and of a similar age.

But the pair of them later realised that they had been on date with each other 20 years ago!

Both had been chosen to take part in the Channel 4 show, and hit it off straight away as they took their seats and enjoyed their meal.

As the conversation started flowing, and the topic turned to their upbringing, Anna said: “You know I said you look familiar, you really do… I’m sure you know my cousin.

Vince replied: “We’ve been on a date before. Oh my god, I know who you are.”

The pair quickly recognised each other’s faces as Anna said: “You’ve actually been to my house when I was younger.”

It turns out the two singletons dated 20 years ago, when Anna was 17 and Vince was 20.

Vince told the cameras: “I do fancy her. and I fancied her years ago. I still do now.”

And Anna definitely had a mutual feeling.

When asked if they wanted to see each other again, Anna said: “Yeah I’d like to. We need to find out what happened.”

Vince added: “We do, we’ve got a lot to figure out, yeah.”

Fans were definitely feeling the sparks between the duo and took to Twitter to discuss the coincidence.

One viewer tweeted: “Omg that couple that had been on a date 20 years before lush!! #firstdates.”

Whilst another tweeted: “The fact they went on a date 20 years ago has just melted my heart #firstdates.”

The evening ended by Vince leaning in for a cheeky kiss, but Anna quickly stated: “I’ve never kissed on a first date… ever!”

Cheeky Vince reminded Anna that, technically, this wasn’t there first date and leaned in again for a smooch – and his persistence paid off.

Fred Siriex, the restaurant owner, spoke to the cameras saying: “Second chances at love are rare and special. Maybe you weren’t ready when you were younger but be patient, your time will come.

“But when love comes around, you have to grab it with both hands and don’t let go.”
