Love Island rumoured to bring back last year’s cast for new double-dating twist

Things could be about to get interesting...

Summer’s almost upon us, which can mean only one thing – Love Island will be back on our tellies soon!

And fans are getting VERY excited about a new rumour sweeping the internet!

According to reports, producers of the ITV2 reality show have something very special in mind for the coming series.

It’s been suggested they want to spice things up in the Majorca villa by bringing back some of LAST YEAR’S cast for some double-dating action.

While there’s no official launch date for the new series yet (fans reckon it’ll start on June 4), Caroline Flack suggested last month that the contestants had been chosen.

The presenter, 38, tweeted: “So, I had a sneak peek at this year’s LOVE ISLANDERS today… it’s gonna be a LONG HOT SUMMER.”

And according to a report by The Sun Online, those taking part could include some of last year’s sun-tanned smoochers.

An insider told the news website: “There has been talk of bringing back some of the old cast for double dates with the new stars.

“Given how popular most of the cast were in the last series, it could be an amazing move. And it would be really popular with fans.”

They can say that again! No sooner had the report been published than Twitter was buzzing with excited tweets.

One viewer wrote: “Love Island to bring back old faces??? Bring back Kem [Cetinay] and Chris [Hughes], please – they are hilarious together.”

Another added: “I’ve just seen that @LoveIsland may be bringing back some of last year’s cast. If it’s @_DomLever, @Jessica_Rose_UK, @JamieLukeJewitt and @CamillaThurlow, I will be buzzing.

“They’re my fav couples – all the rest have ended, so pointless them being back on the show tbh.”

A fan of 2017 contestant Scott Thomas tweeted him asking: “@scottyspecial Would you go back on Love Island? #gueststar #loveisland #hereshoping.”

And a fourth fan said: “@NathanMassey_ is an absolute star on Love Island. Can him and @Miss_Delahoyde please come back on our screens? Absolutely brilliant.”

As for new faces on this year’s show, producers have remained tight-lipped about who’ll be appearing.

But rumours have been circulating that Danny Dyer’s daughter Dani could be among the cast.

It’s been said that more than 60,000 people applied for the new series.

ED! has contacted Love Island for comment.
