Olly Murs addresses his ‘feud’ with Simon Cowell

And also addresses some potential career options...

It’s been a real rollercoaster for Olly Murs since he first found fame almost ten years ago (We know, we feel ancient too!)

From his early days grooving across the stage on The X Factor though international pop success and now a successful stint mentoring on The Voice, Olly’s grafted and earned a lot of experience.

And in a new interview, he’s talked about some of the things he’s learned along the way, while addressing the so-called spat he had with Simon Cowell after taking a seat on The Voice.

It was reported that Simon was less than happy with Olly after he left presenting The X Factor to focus on a rival singing show.

At the time, an insider reportedly said: “Simon Cowell isn’t happy Olly’s swapped allegiances, especially as he left the X Factor to concentrate on his music.”

But in an interview with Now!, Olly has revealed it’s all finally water under the bridge.

He said: “It’s just silly, but I can see why because it’s The X Factor vs The Voice.

“At ITV, it’s not like that – we’re just one big happy family.

“When I first started on The X Factor, Simon was my mentor and he gave me this amazing career, but he’s never told me what to do on a day-to-day basis.”

He added: “I don’t ring Simon and say, ‘Is it OK if I go into work today?’ He’s not my boss. I haven’t got any ties to The X Factor.”

The interview also revealed Olly had been approached with potential job offers from around the world, and that he’d “jump at the chance” to crack America.

Sounds like a fellow Essex boy we know by the name of Mark Wright – no doubt he could show Olly a thing or two, if that’s the way his career goes.

But selfishly, we’d rather keep Olly for ourselves. And to be honest Mark we’d quite like you to come back as well!
