Fern Britton is set to return to This Morning, eight years after she quit the show.
You may remember through the mists of time, that the bubbly telly presenter was Phillip Schofield’s TV wife for ten years – long before Holly Willoughby arrived on the scene.

And today – yes today – will see the legend that is Fern returning to the show.
But sadly she won’t be reunited with her telly hubby Phillip, as Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford are filling in as Easter cover presenters.
Also Fern isn’t actually coming back as a presenter – she’s on as a guest!
She and her real life hubby Phil Vickery – This Morning’s resident chef – will be on the show to talk about a new TV show called Culinary Genius.
Since leaving This Morning, Fern has popped up on the programme from time to time via video messages for special anniversary shows, but she hasn’t stepped foot in the studio since 2009, so today could be emotional for her.
Staff on the show are said to be excited that she is joining the team again, albeit for a short slot.
“It’ll be fantastic to have Fern visit This Morning again, she will have worked with many of the team on and off screen and will be a nice little reunion and chance to catch up.”
Although it was once rumoured that she quit This Morning because she’d discovered that Phillip was being been paid three times more than her, she says she would still love to work with the silver haired fox one day.
She said: “It was great, Phillip and I did our five or six years together and he is an extraordinary force.
“Something between us was like lighting the blue touch paper, it made us laugh, and it was a great relationship and I really enjoyed it.
“Would we want to recreate that? It’s had its time, but I don’t know, never say never.”
And Phillip has been just as gushing about her.
He told Entertainment Daily’s occasional guest writer Andy West last year that “Fern was fabulous was to work with” and that it had been hard to replace her.

However, he did add, that current telly wife, Holly, was the perfect choice as he had been working with her on Dancing On Ice and was a naughty and playful as he was.
And as we all know, their captivating chemistry has helped the show has gone from strength to strength ever since.
