Coronation Street actress Faye Brooks has spoken about the pressures her relationship with Gareth Gates is under.
Appearing on Lorraine fresh from her National Television Awards Best Newcomer win, she confided their struggles.
Gareth was at the ceremony with Faye and she told the host:
“He was so over the moon for me getting the award, I don’t think he can believe it himself.”
The couple looked loved up as they left the O2 with Faye clutching her award following her win.
But this morning she admitted to Lorraine that things weren’t always plain sailing.
“We both work hard so there’s an added pressure there.”
But fortunately despite the strain, Faye went on to add:
“He’s my best friend and makes me laugh. He’s my escape from it all, he gets it and knows what it’s like.”

And Gareth has certainly been showing his undying support for his actress girlfriend, posing a rap video to Instagram urging fans to vote for his missus.
Aw, relationship goals!
While things are looking good in Faye’s love life, she revealed yesterday it’s set to get better for her alter ego Kate Connor as well.
She revealed to Digital Spy:
“There’s a new love interest for Kate Connor this year. Brand new,” she teased. “It’s not Sophie Webster, that’s what I can say!”
What?!
“Sophie is my friend! I think it’ll be nice for the audience to be teased with, ‘Will there ever be a Kophie?'”

But with Faye’s revelation that the show isn’t bringing in a new actor to play her girlfriend, that means the person in question is already living in Weatherfield. Who could it be?
