Fans think they’ve had the first glimpse of the John Lewis Christmas ad

Christmas is a-coming!

A new Twitter account emerged last night called @UnderTheBed2017, and eagle-eyed Christmas lovers think it’s the start of the new John Lewis Christmas campaign.

And this can only mean A NEW CHRISTMAS ADVERT for us all to love!

So far there have been two clips each showing 4 seconds of a pair of eyes looking around the darkness of the screen.

The video is simply accompanied by the hashtag #UnderTheBed

Fans of the Christmas ads believe the text is the familiar John Lewis text and seem to be in agreement that this is what they’ve been waiting for as they inundated the account with tweets:

John Lewis has caught everyone by the Christmas Stockings each year with the show-stopping, heart-grabbing adverts.

Our fave is the snowman and woman, with the beautiful voice of Gabrielle Aplin singing The Power Of Love.

They are such a huge hit for the brand – last year’s advert #Bouncebounce, starring Buster The Boxer, generated an incredible 53.5 million views across social channels in its first week alone, according to John Lewis Partnership chairman Sir Charlie Mayfield.

According to Campaign, the 2017 advert is being directed by Michel Gondry who has worked on Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Daft Punk’s ‘Around the World’ music video, but no word on who will be providing the musical soundtrack just yet.

But could this year’s winner be coming sooner than we think?

Last year, the company got the nation in a frenzy just with a 10 second clip during an X Factor ad break on November 10.

So does that mean we will be seeing the full ad as soon as this weekend?

If this video clip is the advert, and we reckon it could be, then we haven’t got long until we find out, and then that’s officially the start of Christmas.
