He wrote: “Had lovely stroll and sit with the Mrs earlier – (she has been ill with pneumonia I know weird huh, good news is she’s well on the mend) but was wondering, what’s your tolerance for sitting doing nothing, just, you know thinking?

“10mins/20mins/30? 1 hour? More? I’m told you can get better at it and I like the idea of meditation or being present in the moment – but just can’t seem to do it for more than a few minutes max if that!”

In the video, Ben said: “20 minutes peace…. right, I want a beer.”

Fans sent their well-wishes to Annie.

One person said: “Glad to hear your better half is on the mend,” while another wrote: “Oh crikey!! Sorry to hear that, glad to hear she’s on the mend.”

A third commented: “So sorry Annie get well soon.”

Ben and Annie married in 2004 and have two sons together – Jack, 14, and Sam, 12.

Away from his TV career, Ben is very much the family man and recently decided to quit one of his television jobs to make more time for his wife and sons.

At the end of last month, the star announced his decision to step down from hosting Goals on Sunday after nine years.

The Tipping Point presenter hosts the sports show alongside former footballer Chris Kamara.

Sharing the news on Twitter, Ben thanked viewers and said his experience on the show has been “unbelievable”.

He wrote: “Morning all- So after 9 seasons + nearly 400 shows the time has come to hang up my @GoalsOnSunday boots.

“I’ve loved working with @chris_kammy + know we’ll have more adventures to come! Thanks to our viewers, guests, + @SkySports it’s has, as Kammy would say been ‘Unbelievable!'”

Speaking to the Mirror about his sons, Ben added: “Now they’re teenagers, Sam is taller than me and Jack is not far behind, which I’m trying to come to terms with. They’re consumed by schoolwork all week, the weekend is the only time I can spend with them.

“What tends to happen is that after doing the breakfast show on Thursdays and Fridays, Saturday comes and I’m shattered.

“Doing Goals on Sunday has been amazing, but I can see that not only will we all benefit as a family but I’ll benefit from being more involved in their weekend life.”
