Katie Price’s fans send support as she shares update on mum Amy

The star is putting family first

Katie Price broke down in tears earlier this week during an appearance on Loose Women, which led to her being escorted from the set.

She’d been discussing her mum Amy’s terminal illness, and how the late Keith Chegwin had contacted her to try to help deal with the lung condition.

But Katie broke down in floods of tears as she said the reality of the condition had hit home after Keith passed away on Monday.

And after being inundated with messages of support via her social media channels, Katie took to Instagram today to share a picture of her mum and dad on holiday in New York, giving fans an update on how her mum is doing.

She captioned the image, “My mum and dad enjoying NYC” along with several heart emojis.

The images showed Amy enjoying a boat tour of the Big Apple, with Manhattan’s famous skyline in the background.

Another photo showed her wrapped up against the cold.

Her fans were quick to offer support during Katie’s difficult time.

One commented: “Never normally do comments on this, but Katie, if you ever see this I just wanted to send you all my love after seeing how strong you were on Loose Women. Love to you all, stay strong, I know you can do it.”

During her Loose Women appearance, Katie said: “IPA [idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis] isn’t well known and there should be more awareness because once you’re diagnosed, it’s too late.

“It’s an incurable lung disease – no one knows how you get it…”

Janet Street Porter said: “Your mum was on the show to talk about it wasn’t she?” and Katie replied: “Yeah, but it didn’t really hit me then.”

She went on: “Keith got in touch and we’d been speaking to him a lot and he was trying to help my mum. I knew all along about Keith but I never said it to anyone and I can’t believe that within six months he’s gone.”

Katie said Keith had the same lung condition as Amy.

As she struggled to fight back tears, Katie choked: “The thing is my mum is going to die, and I just don’t want her to die.”

And her nightmare year got even worse after she suffered a nasty fall from her horse yesterday.

But yesterday, a country ride ended painfully when she took a tumble.

With all this going on, it’s no wonder Katie’s desperate to put a pretty miserable 2017 behind her and start fresh next year.
