Kensington Palace issues statement on Kate Middleton’s 37th birthday

The Duchess of Cambridge is clearly a very popular royal

It’s hard to believe Kate Middleton has been part of the royal family for eight years now – and even harder to believe the fresh-faced Duchess is now 37!

Royal fans have rushed to wish her a happy birthday, with Kensington Palace calling the outpouring “lovely”.

One Kate-devotee tweeted: “Happy Birthday Kate! You are an inspiration to many. Here’s hoping you have a lovely day with Will and the Kiddies.”

Another said: “Happy Birthday to the Duchess of Cambridge. May this day be filled with happiness and joy.”

A third added: “Wishing the happiest birthday to Kate Middleton! 💙🎁🎂👑✨ #HappyBirthdayHRH.” While a fourth gushed: “Happy birthday Duchess of Cambridge, the beautiful Catherine Elizabeth ‘Kate’ Middleton. 👸 Stay fabulous! 😘.”

Others shared their favourite quotes, with one writing: “‘I’m still very much Kate.’ ― Kate Middleton (born this day, January 9, 1982).”

The official Kensington Palace Twitter account wrote: “Thank you everyone for all your lovely messages on The Duchess of Cambridge’s birthday 🎈.”

The message was liked more than 6k times in just a few hours.

Kensington Palace also confirmed Kate would be making a special visit to some London gardens next week.

The tweet read: “On Tuesday 15th January The Duchess of Cambridge will visit the King Henry’s Walk Community Garden in Islington.

Over Christmas, speculation ramped up that they could be adding to their family, as bookies slashed odds of Kate having a fourth baby in the next year.

Kate and William had their third child, Louis, eight months ago but it’s thought they may have another little one.

In December, bookies cut the odds on them having a fourth baby from 7/2 to 3/1.

Ladbrokes spokesman Alex Apati told The Express: “It’s looking increasingly likely Wills and Kate will welcome another family member in the near future.”
