Fans rave about Spice Girls’ “amazing” show as they perform in pouring rain

Emma Bunton admits she's '#drenchedspice'

It could’ve easily been deemed a washout, but it seems the Spice Girls have finally turned things around, with rave reviews coming in thick and fast for the Bristol leg of their Spice World tour.

Fans called last night’s show “amazing” and said they “loved every minute” – despite torrential rain pouring down on the open-air arena for the majority of the night.

Emma Bunton and Geri Horner even took to the stage wearing plastic ponchos, with the Baby Spice star later sharing a picture of herself looking soaked.

And, it appears, that the fans who attended the show couldn’t have been happier with the girls’ performance.

It comes after sound problems plagued the start of the tour, with angry concert-goers demanding a refund after they complained that they “couldn’t hear a thing”.

“You girls are amazing,” one fan said. “Performing rain or shine.”

Another added: “Best show ever!!! Viva Forever made us all cry – my inner 10 year old self had the best night ever!”

Others said they “loved every minute” of the show and thanked the foursome for “being so awesome in the horrid weather”.

“Incredible job tonight,” another praised. They added: “Hope you’ve got a hot bath lined up!”

And, while the rain certainly didn’t dampen the Wannabe stars’ spirits, audience members agreed that it was “worth every single raindrop”.

One said: “You girls were incredible! It was totally worth it to stand in 5 hours in the pouring rain! You really kept us warm tonight!”

They added: “It wasn’t just a concert, it was an experience. Thank you for making the magic happen!”

Geri, Emma, Mel B and Mel C bring their Spice World tour to a close this weekend, with three gigs at London’s Wembley Stadium.
