Coleen and Wayne Rooney welcomed their fourth son, Cass Mac Rooney, on Thursday morning.
And fans have some BIG questions about the little guy’s name.
The couple announced his birth via social media, with Coleen, 31, telling fans: “So happy to welcome our Baby Boy …. Cass Mac Rooney into the world weighing a healthy 8lb 10oz. He is beautiful (sic).”
So far there have been no pictures of Cass or any further info about the newborn… but that hasn’t stopped fans burning up Twitter with questions.
Firstly, why did they break with tradition and not spell the newborn’s name with a K, given they’re already parents to sons Kai, seven, Klay, four, and two-year-old Kit?

One fan wrote: “No, do Kass, keep with the K theme lol.”
Another said: “Omg beautiful name. You should of spelt it Kass to stick with the tradition. Congratulations!”
And a third remarked: “Noooo I can’t believe she’s ruined her K theme. Congratulations to you all on the arrival of the safe baby boy 8lb 10oz xx.”
Other fans, somewhat unflatteringly, suggested the little lad’s name sounds like an item on a McDonald’s menu.
One wrote: “Congratulations. You’re taking the 50 year anniversary of the Big Mac seriously… Well Done.”
Another agreed: “Sounds like a McDonald’s promotion.”
Other remarks included, “Did it come with burger sauce?” and “Poor kid, McDonald’s jokes for days.”
Bit harsh! We think it’s lovely!
Many other fans wondered if Coleen and Wayne were aiming to create their own football team, given they now have four sons.
Some also questioned if Coleen and Wayne would try again for a baby girl.
Come on, guys, they’ve JUST had a baby, give them some time!
Of course, the couple were also inundated with comments from fans who love the baby name.
One told them: “Love the name, people are quick to say there opinion on something new… how little they know there opinion means NOTHING!! Cass Mac Rooney it’’s cute. There’s some meaning from the chosen names? Congratulations to you all especially you Coleen.”
Another said: “Awwwww congratulations you guys. Xxx beautiful name.”
And a third added: “Great name congratulations.”
So far, it’s unclear what the inspiration behind the name Cass is, although some have speculated it could be a tribute to boxer Muhammad Ali, whose real name was Cassius Clay.

When the Rooneys named their second-born son Klay, many speculated that was after Ali, given Wayne is known to be a boxing fan.
One clever fan suggested the baby’s middle name, Mac, was a reference to Coleen’s maiden name, McLoughlin. Ooh, maybe!
Perhaps Coleen and Wayne will share the meaning behind Cass Mac’s name with us one day.
