Love Island fans brand show ‘scripted’ after Eyal couples up with Hayley

Say it isn't so!

| Updated:

Fans of Love Island were left in shock last night, after contestant Eyal Booker chose to re-couple up with existing partner Hayley Hughes, and many took to Twitter to express their fears that the show may be scripted.

Model Eyal, who chose fellow model Hayley to couple up with when he first entered the villa, failed to make sparks fly between them throughout their first week.

Eyal had a tough decision to make – but was he swayed by producers?

In a heated debate, just hours before the tense re-coupling, he told the Abbey Clancy lookalike: “You’ve made no effort to get to know me”, and she had agreed that they were not compatible.

Instead, he confessed that he could see a future between himself and Kendall Rae-Knight, who had recently been ditched by partner Adam Collard, after the pair shared an emotional heart-to-heart and a tearful cuddle.

Yet when it came down to the final three girls remaining – Kendall, Hayley, and new girl Rosie Williams – Eyal chose to stick with Hayley.

“I want to couple up with this girl because she is beautiful, confident, and she has beautiful eyes, and I just want to get to know her a little bit better,” Eyal explained, with his co-stars assuming he would pick blue-eyed Kendall.

But he continued, “So the girl I want to partner up with, is Hayley.”

His choice conveniently left Adam having to choose between new girl Rosie and his existing partner Kendall, after confessing he was feeling torn between them.

Fans immediately took to Twitter to express their disbelief, accusing the show of egging Eyal on to choose Hayley.

“Love Island has to be scripted. Eyal was clearly told to say the ‘beautiful eyes’ comment so that we thought he was picking Kendall,” wrote one unimpressed viewer.

Another noted: “Love Island must be scripted, which is such a shame! You could literally tell Eyal didn’t want to pick Hayley but he had to so that Adam could pick out of Kendall and Rosie.”

Another angry fan even tweeted that the apparent scripting has made her want to tune out of the ITV2 show altogether.

They wrote: “100% not watching it anymore. It’s definitely somewhat scripted/swayed by producers. Over it!”

One fan even accused the dating show of breaking her heart.

“I can’t help but feel like Love Island is completely scripted this year and it’s breaking my heart,” they confessed.

As for the re-coupling, it’s unclear how long Hayley and Eyal will last.

Although the blonde beauty looked incredibly happy to have been saved from eviction, she had earlier confided in fellow contestant Dani Dyer that she and Eyal weren’t compatible.

“I can’t be myself around him,” she told the barmaid and daughter of Danny Dyer, and had proposed that she and Dani swap partners, so that she could re-couple with Jack Fincham.

Yet when it came to the crunch, the islanders were told that the boys would be choosing which girl to couple with, meaning it would be the girl remaining who would leave the villa.

Adam’s choice of Rosie left Kendall as the last remaining contestant, and the first girl to leave the villa. Scandalous!
