Emmerdale’s John Middleton: “I could be going next week!”

There's more heartbreak coming to the Dales

Just as viewers recover from the shocking death of Holly Barton in ITV soap Emmerdale, it looks like there is more heartache on the way.

Not only that, it could be happening next week!

Actor John Middleton has teased that his character Ashley Thomas could be facing an abrupt and tragic ending.

In the soap, Ashley has fought against dementia over the past 12 months or more but it looks like the battle could soon be over.

John has revealed that Ashley could be reaching a tragic conclusion to his problems sooner than we all thought.

He added that Ashley and his family with Laurel, will go through a “period of severe crisis”.

She added that essentially it is a “love story” but this adds to the sorrow: “That’s why it’s so tragic!”

John added: “It’s a love story with an inevitable outcome.”

Speaking to Digital Spy, John revealed that the scenes had been “filmed it in a completely different way” than normal and it is hoped that the scenes will be “hugely successful”.

The dramatic week will begin on October 17 and it could well be Ashley’s last hurrah.
