Emmerdale producers have been rocked by the shock news that a show favourite has decided to quit the Dales.
Can you guess who it is?
Well, if we told you he recently came runner up on a very popular reality show set in the jungle, would that help?
Yes, that’s right, it’s the very handsome and very cheeky actor, Adam Thomas, who plays Adam Barton.
According to reports, the brother of Corrie’s Ryan Thomas is set to quit the soap later in the year to pursue a career as a telly presenter.
Adam joined the cast of Emmerdale back in 2009 after a f ew years on Waterloo Road and has been put through the ringer by the show’s writers.
Not only has his character suffered a breakdown and committed arson after the man he believed was his father died, he was also tricked into believing he had fathered a child.
Earlier this year, his character had to endure the heartache of losing his half-sister Holly and biological father James, who were both killed off within a month of each other.
But in spite of his on screen drama, Adam is said to have enjoyed every single minute.
“Adam’s had a great time but he’s spent eight years in the Dales and thinks the time is right,” a source has told the Sun.
“It’s a headache for bosses as he’s a recognisable face, especially after I’m A Celebrity.”
Adam is the latest big name to announce he is quitting the soap, following in the footsteps of hunky Kelvin Fletcher, Gemma Atkinson, and Bill Ward.
