There must be something irresistible about Yorkshire vets.
Rhona, Paddy and Vanessa have certainly seen their fare share of action in the boudoir and it doesn’t look like they will be letting up soon.
Rhona and Paddy were married and looked inseparable until teaching assistant Tess, caught the eye of Paddy.
It is fair to say that it didn’t end well.
Tess was killed in a car accident, while Paddy and Rhona’s marriage was irreparable.
Well, it is the first anniversary of Tess’s demise and Rhona and Paddy’s coupling has been officially dissolved.
The decree absolute papers have arrived and the pair are no longer husband and wife.
This means that Rhona is now free to take up Pierce (Tess’s widowed husband) proposal, while Paddy can explore his feeling for Chas (again).
Of course, being a soap, this can mean only one thing.
Paddy and Rhona have a drunken heart-to-heart as they pick the bones out of what went wrong.
This leads, naturally, them sharing a kiss and possibly reinvigorating the feelings they once had for each other.
Will the recently divorced couple now look to be together again?
What’s for certain is that the increasingly sinister Pierce will not stand by and let this happen.
Meanwhile, Laurel is having a moral crisis of her own.
The toll of caring for husband Ashley, who is suffering from dementia, is getting on top of her and the recovering alcoholic is tempted by a glass of bubbly, to help see her through the day.
Fortunately, Bernice was there to catch her before she fell off the wagon.
These are stressful times though and this could be a personal battle that Laurel might find hard to win.
