It’s clear to see that Aaron and Robert are crazy about each other.
But theirs is not the most stable of relationships in soap, that’s for sure.
Mostly that’s down to Robert’s perceived wandering eye – and the jealousy that evokes in Aaron, not to mention the concern of all who love him.
A heartbroken Aaron is a self-destructive one, after all.
Although, after the crash in No Return week, it has appeared they are both more secure where they are and where they are going together.
But for one fly in the ointment that is. Rebecca, Robert’s ex-lover.
While she claims to be over him and to have nothing but good will towards Robron, there’s an edge to her that makes everyone anxious.
And, frankly, there’s a sideways glance that betrays Robert too – in the right circumstances, could he be tempted to stray?
Aaron certainly seems to worry so.
However, it seems there could be a massive curve ball on its way for the boys’ love affair.
Could it be that Aaron will cheat on Robert? Emmerdale boss Iain MacLeod appears to be teasing just that.
In a video discussing hot storylines for 2017, uploaded to Emmerdale’s Facebook page, he said:
“What we see from Aaron is something really surprising, he finds himself in the middle of someone else’s story.
“Fuelled by his own turbulent feelings about Robert, a little bit of jealousy about Rebecca, he wades into a situation he probably shouldn’t. He gets himself in a right mess and quite a bit of trouble.
“All this only serves to show Robert how much he loves Aaron and sharpens his eagerness to get him up the aisle.”
Oh, ‘eck. If these two don’t make it happily down the aisle together this year, we will not be happy!
