Arthur Thomas may be the key to exposing Emma Barton’s crime in Emmerdale

The little lad might have some incriminating evidence against her

Of all the people who might bring killer Emma Barton down, who knew it would be young Arthur Thomas?

As he watches old videos of his dad, Ashley, will he finally stumble across the ticking time bomb that is the video of Emma manipulating Ashley?

Arthur’s had a lot of deal with lately, not least his dad being diagnosed with dementia and then passing away in heartbreaking scenes.

When it becomes clear he’s avoiding going to school because he’s so sad, Doug and Laurel agree to the eccentric Lydia Hart giving the youngster some grief counselling.

As she tries to get him to open up, can she help him cope with everything that’s been going on?

Meanwhile, Emma is throwing herself into working at the church to absolve herself of any blame for fiancé James Barton’s death.

Fans will remember she pushed him off a motorway bridge to his death last year after her escaped from the house she’d kept him hostage in for a few weeks.

No one knows what Emma did, and James’s tragic death was ruled as suicide.

But Ashley saw Emma on the bridge that night and although he was confused because of his dementia, Emma was panicked that he could expose her lies.

So she paid him a visit and manipulated him into thinking it was his memory playing tricks on him. But she had no idea Ashley’s video camera was recording the whole conversation and incriminating her.

The recording was seemingly lost when Laurel smashed the camera and filed the memory card away in a drawer.

However, now young Arthur’s struggling the videos might be just what’s needed to cheer him up.

Things get even worse for the lad when his hamster, Rattles, escapes. Arthur fears the hamster will die just like his dad, so Laurel decides the time is right to sit down and watch some old footage of Ashley.

As she pulls out the memory card and plays it for Arthur, they sit together and enjoy reminiscing. It definitely helps Arthur feel better.

Then, just as the footage of Emma and Ashley begins, Rattles suddenly reappears and both Arthur and Laurel jump up to catch him.

Does this mean they’ll miss what Emma’s doing? Will we have to wait for someone else to watch it before she gets caught out?

Or might Arthur return to the video straight after having put his hamster back where he belongs?

Will Arthur be the one to finally catch Emma out? And what will he do with the video once he’s seen it?
