Emmerdale cancelled for four days amid more disruptive schedule changes

Soap fans are set to be disappointed yet again

Emmerdale fans will be left bitterly disappointed this week, after learning the ITV soap has been cancelled for four whole days.

Viewers will have to wait until Tuesday to get their next soap fix, after the serial drama has been rescheduled in favour of football coverage.

After last night’s double episode (Thursday 21 March), the ITV soap’s Friday and Monday visits have been cancelled to make way for live international football coverage.

Viewers will have to wait until Tuesday for a double episode of the drama.

Coronation Street has also been affected by the annoying schedule change, as Friday’s double episode has been cancelled, too.

Instead of being able to catch up with events in Weatherfield and the Dales, those tuning in to ITV1 will instead find the Live Euro 2020 qualifier between England and Czech Republic.

The football takes up pretty much the whole of Friday night’s ITV1 schedule, with coverage starting at 7pm and going on until 10pm.

After 45 minutes of news, there’s then an hour of Euro 2020 Qualifier Highlights, before a repeat of Harry’s Heroes: The Full English.

On Monday, ITV1 will devote the evening to England’s second Euro qualifier against Montenegro.

The coverage begins at 7pm, with kick-off at 7.45pm. After a 45-minute visit to the newsroom, ITV1 will then air highlights.

Luckily for soap fans, BBC1’s EastEnders is unaffected by the football, so fans will be able to visit Walford as usual on Monday and Friday at 8pm.

Next week’s Emmerdale storylines include Tracy Metcalfe’s arrest while looking after April, a racism plot for Billy Fletcher, and a blast from the past for Charity Dingle.
