Emma Willis tells Pixie Lott to “compose” herself after she breaks down on The Voice Kids

Tears were flowing as the kids sang a weepy ballad

| Updated:

We’ve almost reached the end of the Voice Kids series, as we approach the semi finals next week.

But in last night’s battle rounds, tears were in plentiful supply as pop princess Pixie Lott threatened to upset the show’s make up artist by crying her mascara away.

As three hopefuls sang Somewhere Over The Rainbow from The Wizard Of Oz, pretty Pix couldn’t keep it together and started weeping in her spinning seat.

Well, to be fair, it is one of those songs that pull at the heart strings, so Pixie, we don’t blame you for crying.

Of the three, Pixie was obviously rooting for her own charge Erin C but – bless her heart –  she was so moved by all three contestants she was overcome with emotion.

Afterwards, a similarly impressed Emma Willis told the contestants that she had had goosebumps listening to their emotive rendition.

Then she turned to the coaches and said to the tearful singer: “Pixie, do you need a tissue?” adding, “Will you compose yourself for a little bit.”

Afterwards, Pixie admitted:  “I don’t like to cry, I’m always holding back the tears but I couldn’t help it!”

But it wasn’t just the perky popstar who was moved by the performances.

So too was Danny Jones from McFly.

When Emma suggested that he was close to tears, he gushed: “That’s how powerful that was.

“I am speechless. I don’t know what to say.”

Although he did, because he followed that up with the classic reality TV cliche: “You took me on an amazing journey.”

Sadly for Pixie, her Erin didn’t make it through to the semis next week as Ricardo was the lucky singer chosen by the judges.
