Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke debuts dramatic hair makeover

She looks amazing (as always!)

Game of Thrones favourite Emilia Clarke has debuted a dramatic makeover.

The actress, best known to millions as the platinum blonde Daenerys Targaryen, revealed her bold new look on Instagram, after chopping her hair into a darker blonde cropped ‘do.

Emilia shared a photo of her new look, joking it was reminiscent of Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow’s matching hairstyles back when they dated in the ’90s.

Beaming for the camera, she joked: “Me: ‘I’m thinking when Gwyneth and Brad had the same hair cut.'”

Ah, the nostalgia!

She tagged in her hairdresser, Jenny Cho, who posted her own video of Emilia’s makeover to Instagram, saying: “Emilia has been a sultry brunette to the recent platinum goddess and everything in between.

“She’s one of the few lucky ones who has a huge colour range. I know, I know, some of you guys are sad to see the Platinum go. It’s stunning but not always kind on the hair. What’s been your favourite of #emiliaclarke’s colour? Hope you enjoy this very fast version of our cutting session.”

Emilia’s fans were quick to gush over her new look, with many saying although they love her platinum blonde Game of Thones style, they also love this new image.

One wrote, “That looks phenomenal!” while another said: “You look great. Love the hair.”

A third wrote: “I love your precious smile!! And your hair is so cute! I wish I could pull that off.”

Game of Thrones fans are eagerly waiting the arrival of the eighth and final series of the epic fantasy. It’s scheduled to air in 2019.

But be warned! Emilia’s co-star Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, has told fans they could be split by how the show concludes.

She told IGN: “Who knows if it will be satisfying for the fans. I think a lot of fans will be disappointed and a lot of fans will be over the moon, I think.”

Sophie added: “I think it will be really interesting to see people’s reactions but for me reading the script it was just like heartbreaking to read at the very final page of the script it just says, ‘End of Game of Thrones’.

“That was really emotional.”

Game of Thrones airs on HBO in the US and Sky Atlantic in the UK.
