The actress has chosen the most adorable name

| Updated:

Eastenders star Kellie Bright has given birth to her second child, a baby boy!

Kellie, who plays Linda Carter in the soap, gave birth on November 21 last year just seven hours after she went into labour.

The actress and her husband, Paul Stocker, who already have four-year-old son Freddy, named their newborn baby Gene Harlyn.

How adorable is that?!

However, Kellie and Paul had quite a scare when Gene’s health went downhill shortly after bringing him home, meaning he had to be rushed back into hospital.

Kellie told OK! Magazine: “He had a nasty cough but the doctors assured me he’d be fine.

“Then he suddenly went downhill so we rushed him to hospital where he was diagnosed with bronchitis.

“He had to spend a few nights in hospital on oxygen but he’s home now and well on the road to recovery.”

Paul added: “He still has a nasty little cough that makes him sound as though he’s a 50-a-day smoker the poor thing.”

Explaining the inspiration behind Gene’s name, Kellie said: “It was sort of because of my nan.

“She and I watched a lot of Gene Kelly when I was growing up and just adored him. Then Gene Wilder died last year when I was pregnant, so it felt more special.

“The midwife who delivered Gene said in 20 years of delivering babies, he was her first Gene, which we loved.

“He’s gene Harlyn Stocker – Harlyn after a beach in Cornwall which we visited during my pregnancy.

“Freddie’s middle name is Byron after Byron Bay in Australia.

“I love that they both have a bit of seaside in them.”

Although Kellie has just given birth, she’s already got her mind on expanding her family even more.

“I said right away in the delivery room that I wanted another baby,” she said. “I don’t feel ready to shut the door on motherhood just yet.

“If we do have another one, it won’t be immediately. I want to enjoy Gene and give him that time as a baby that we gave Freddy, so maybe three years.

“Of course I’d be 43 by then and Freddy would be eight. Who knows? Maybe we won’t have anymore and these two are our lot, then we’re very lucky. Very, very lucky.

“But I’m not quite ready to say no more children just yet.”

Kellie is currently on maternity leave from EastEnders but has reassured us that she will definitely be back.

Phew!
