There’s been plenty of talk about Peter Beale on Albert Square recently. Big brother Steven finally told the ‘truth’ about what was happening with the troubled soul back in New Zealand.
And ex-girlfriend Lauren Branning was considering heading back Down Under to try and save him.
All the mentions got us, for certain, hopeful that it might be teeing up a return to Walford for the character.
Now, Ben Hardy, who played him, has opened up about the chances of a comeback.
The actor played the Beale boy between 2013 and 2015 and won himself legions of fans not least for his good looks.
We’re afraid it’s bad news for Easties fans – his return is not looking likely any time soon. Ben is busy forging a career in Hollywood.
However, he has given us a nugget of hope to hang onto, teasing: “Never say never, never say never. Who knows?”
Ben was appearing on Good Morning Britain, alongside the show’s entertainment guru Richard Arnold, to discuss the DVD release of X-Men: Apocalypse, in which he plays superhero Angel.
Hmmm. We can kind of understand why he’s not in a mad rush to return to Walford… propping up the bar in The Vic – or hanging out with Jennifer Lawrence? We know which we’d choose!
X-Men: Apocalypse is available on Blu-ray™ and DVD from 7th November, courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
