EastEnders Aunt Babe and Lee Carter are back – kinda!

So soon?

| Updated:

They only left the show last month, but already EastEnders Aunt Babe and Lee Carter are back.

They won’t be heading to Walford though, they’ve been reunited for Let’s Sing and Dance For Comic Relief.

Danny-Boy Hatchard, who played Lee, will be taking to the stage of the Mel and Sue hosted show to perform I’m Still Standing by Elton John.

But that’s only if scheming Babe doesn’t stop him!

In a new trailer released by the BBC, actress Annette Badland is up to Babe’s old tricks as she steals Danny-Boy’s acceptance letter and writes her own name on it!

As he tries to break into the house to get his costume back, she continues to talk to the camera and block his every attempt at getting in.

Babe was last seen in Walford as she cursed the Carters when they threw her out for her dreadful behaviour against Sylvie not to mention the fact she’d been serving alcohol illegally outside of licensing hours and landed the family in a whole heap of trouble.

They’re probably wishing they’d kept her around a bit longer after all, as they struggled to come up with the cash to pay the fine.

Now, Babe’s niece, Shirley Carter has ended up doing time for the crime and is facing up to three months behind bars.

Meanwhile, Lee departed the soap a few days later having finally realised his mounting debts weren’t going away and he needed to get out of Walford if he was going to combat his depression.

He left wife Whitney all alone, so she’s moved into The Vic. But does she have designs on Mick?

Danny-Boy’s no stranger to singing with his background in musical theatre. And his first job since leaving the Square was a gig in Brasserie Zedel in London performing a repertoire of Frank Sinatra songs.

You can watch him as Elton later this month and find out whether he’s still standing at the end of it all!
