Ruth Langsford reveals Eamonn Holmes’ very mean nickname for her

Naughty Eamonn!

Ruth Langsford shocked Strictly Come Dancing viewers by revealing husband Eamonn Holmes has a VERY unflattering nickname for her.

The 52-year-old disclosed Eamonn’s pretty mean pet name on Sunday night’s results show, after successfully making it through to the next week of performances.

She let slip the unusual nickname after Claudia Winkleman announced Ruth will be dancing with a broomstick for her Halloween performance on Saturday night.

Laughing, Ruth replied: “Well, can I just say, that is my husband’s nickname for me – The Witch – so it’s very appropriate and I think I’ll be alright!”

As Susan Calman and Kevin Clifton’s mouths dropped in shock, Claudia replied: “That’s very romantic…”

We’re pretty sure Eamonn’s nickname is all just a bit of fun, however, given he’s been Ruth’s biggest supporter throughout the Strictly experience.

As well as proudly sitting front row to watch her perform, Eamonn has been spamming his social media accounts with gushing praise for Ruth and encouraging fans to vote to keep her in the competition.

And Ruth recently praised Eamonn for his support, telling The Sun: “I’m more reserved in real life but he always tells me that I’m gorgeous.

“That’s a lovely thing to have your husband telling you. He just loves to see me enjoying myself.

“To see your partner having fun and feeling good about themselves, it’s going to make you feel good as well.”

As for that dreaded Strictly love curse, both Ruth and Eamonn have laughed it off, saying they’re blissfully happy with each other and that won’t change!

Eamonn told Now magazine: “I don’t really know how it works. The two of us are energetic people who are always interested in each other, and that doesn’t mean you spend all day adoring each other.

“I’d never not be interested in her and I think vice versa. I’m just full of admiration for her.”

Meanwhile, viewers saw Brian Conley and partner Amy Dowden given the boot on Sunday night after dancing off against Simon Rimmer and Karen Clifton.

Both were at the bottom of the leaderboard after Saturday night’s dances – and the judges chose to say goodbye to Brian.

He told Tess Daly: “I have loved everything about this, I truly have, it’s one of the greatest shows.

“I love this lady [Amy] and I wanted to be on this show forever and ever because I want everyone out there to know how special this lady is. She’s a star.”
