Eamonn Holmes shares new picture of his rarely-seen eldest son

A father-son day at the races!

| Updated:

Eamonn Holmes was joined by eldest son Declan at the Cheltenham Festival this week.

The Northern Irish presenter, 58, rarely shares images of his children to social media but made an exception on Wednesday night.

Eamonn posted an image of him posing with a smiling Declan on the windy-looking race course.

His caption read: “Had a lovely day at Cheltenham Festival with Declan. Oddly enough there were a few other Irish there as well.”

Fans loved seeing a new pic of Eamonn and his son, with some saying they still remember seeing Declan as a little boy.

One, who appeared to a former teacher of Declan’s, wrote: “Declan has grown into a handsome chap. Where have all those years gone since I taught him at prep school?”

Others called it a lovely photo and said they hoped the men had a good day.

One said: “Nice to see you’re having a day with your son. Can’t beat some nice father and son bonding time. I hope everyone is well.”

Another wrote: “Oh my gosh you are both so alike beautiful men.”

A third added: “A lovely picture of two handsome twinkly-eyed Irish men, I bet you both had a great day. It looks a bit windy and chilly there though Eamonn.”

The last time fans got a pic of Declan was last October, when Eamonn joined him in Ireland to research wedding venues.

Declan is engaged to fiancée Jenny Gouk.

A thrilled Eamonn announced the engagement on Twitter by sharing a pic of the couple beaming and showing off the engagement ring.

He said:  “I am proud to announce the engagement today of Number 1 Son @decholmes & his now fiancee Dr @JennyGouk. Much happiness in both our families.”

Eamonn has three children from his first marriage – Declan, Rebecca and Niall – and one son, Jack, with second wife Ruth Langsford.

Meanwhile, you can catch Eamonn and Ruth on your screens again on Thursday evening as the second episode of their Channel 5 show, Do The Right Thing, airs.

Do The Right Thing airs Thursday at 9pm on Channel 5.
