Eamonn Holmes fans astonished at ‘cute’ throwback snaps of presenter from when he was a boy

TV presenter shared 'adorable' pics of his First Holy Communion outfit

TV presenter Eamonn Holmes tickled his social media followers earlier this week by sharing photos from his childhood.

The This Morning host, 59, posted the adorable throwback snaps after interviewing Masterchef star John Torode.

Aussie John, 53, had himself given viewers a heartwarming peek of his early years by revealing his First Communion outfit.

Not to be outdone, an inspired Eamonn later revealed his own Sunday best from way back when on Instagram.

“On display in my mum’s hallway,” he noted in the caption of the image which showed him dressed up in white shirt with a bow tie, short trousers and buckled shoes.

Eamonn also shared another pic of his younger self looking very smart as he sat down – but apparently he wasn’t in top form when the shot was taken.

He revealed: “I was so ill. Allergic to the penicillin I’d been given but the show had to go on.”

Fans flooded the comments sections of both photos with appreciative heart emojis, endeared to the sight of Eamonn as a child.

“Handsome little chap,” added one user.

“This is adorable! Not much has changed,” complimented another.

A third joked: “So angelic Eamonn… what happened?”

The Belfast-born TV personality also shared another heartwarming family tale on social media recently, relating to son Declan’s 30th birthday celebrations.

Explaining he travelled to Northern Ireland for a secret party, Eamonn revealed the surprise did not come off exactly as planned.

Noting a friendly local had inadvertently spilled all at the last minute, the dad of four joked his hometown’s residents will always go out of their way to lend a hand.

“We are overly helpful in Belfast – to a fault,” Eamonn tweeted.

“Organised a surprise birthday party for my eldest lad last night. All went well until he arrived at the venue and someone blurts ‘you’ve just missed your dad and family. They’re upstairs in the function room.'”
